6 Months

(above): Sneak Preview of our Christmas card picture.
This blog has taken on a whole new purpose for myself. I try to record as much as I can each month so that when I go to scrapbook each month between my blog and my baby calendar hopefully I will have everything documented. My friend Jenny mentioned that is what she does and the more I thought about it the more I realized what a great idea it was.
Also, I know at least 3 teachers read my blog regularly. I was by no means an honor student. I cannot spell, let alone write a paragraph, so please excuse my horrible writing skills!
On December 4 Jonathan and I went over to our the Glenn's to watch the SEC championship which Auburn won. It was a great game. Jon David got some lovin' from Chad.
Yesterday was Jon David's first snow. Jonathan had to work, so I bundled him up and stuck him on the deck long enough to snap some pictures. I wasn't really brave enough to get out in it with him. He loves to be outside and has missed going out everyday since it has been so cold.
As soon as the door opened the dogs came running. They love him. They look in the back door every night as we give him his bath (in the kitchen floor) and get him ready for bed. Once he starts sitting up a little better on his own he will be moving to the big tub!
One sweet snow baby!
As always on Jon David's "month birthdays" I plop him on my bed and start snapping away. He was super photogenic today or at least his momma thinks so!

I always try to get a foot shot. Your little feet are getting so chubby!
This is your new thing. You have found your ear and the side of your hair and you love to scratch/pat them. You do it more when you are sleepy and I think it is SUPER cute.
You are not and have never been a fan of tummy time. You do however love this toy Ginger Pritchard passed down to you and you love TV so if I put either in front of you you will do tummy time a few minutes. If not, you open your mouth and burry your face in the carpet and fuss, and I just can't take it, not so much the fussing but your mouth on the carpet!
Also, over Thanksgiving you found your toes!
As few other updates...as of yesterday I am trying to figure out the whole 3 naps to 2 schedule. I think we have done pretty well. Also, this morning was the last time I nursed you. I have been pretty sad about it today. I have been supplimenting with formula since 4 1/2 months and lately you haven't been getting hardly anything so it was just time. It has truly been a learning experience, and I will know a few things next time that will hopfully enable me to go longer. On the bright side I had my very first caffine this morning, a cup of coffee with peppermint mocha creamer and it was delish! After Christmas I am going to try to wean you from your miracle blanket. I tried one night last week and it was a rough night. You love it and I love you in it so this may be the hardest transition yet! You will get your 6 month shots tomorrow and you will have your 6 month check up on the 21! Next week your daddy will be off Wednesday through the following Monday for Christmas and I cannot wait to spend time with my two favorite boys!
Jon David I know I say this every month but these six months have creeped by and flown by. You are getting so fun. Weekly your dad or I say "this is my favorite age." You are getting so big and so fun! We love you so much and thank God he blessed us with you!

Thanksgiving

On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving we left for our second trip to "the Valley" when Jonathan got off work. Jon David did great. He slept the whole way and transitioned smoothly to the pack and play when we arrived.
On Thursday we woke up and had a great time with Jonathan's parents. They hadn't seen him since the first weekend in October so he got some much needed lovin!
I found this adorable shirt at Wal-mart for $3, and he had to have it!
Jonathan's momma loves him so much. It is always so great to have an extra set of hands. I was pretty spoiled over the weekend. If he made a peep someone was right there to get him. That's what grandparents are for.
Jonathan's nana and grandaddy and Adie Rose giving him smooches. She adores him.
Jonathan's Aunt Rita (above) and Aunt Jane (below) came in from Flordia and got to see our sweet boy. We loved that everyone was there this year. It was so special.
Jonathan's cousin Justin and his wife Kim with Jon David. Justin broke out old home videos of the family. It was so funny to see Jonathan. He reminded me so much of Lil' Art.
Jon David having a blast at his grandparents house.
He was the best boy. He napped great while we were gone and did pretty well through the night. On Friday Jonathan and his Dad watched Jon David while all the girls did a little shopping. We were home by 2 for the Auburn Alabama game, and thank goodness Auburn won! It didn't look to good the first half, but what a come back!
On Saturday we went shopping ALL DAY. It was Jon Davids first all day outing. We took his first nap on the way to Newnan (about 45 minutes away), his second nap in the Baby Bijorn, and his third nap on the way home. He was perfect! After we got home Jonathan's brother Brad, his wife Amy, and their son Brandon came over and grilled steaks. We love getting to spend time with them. We are hoping they can come visit us this summer!
On our way home we stopped to visit some of my favorite people, the Ohs. I used to babysit Harrison when I was in middle school and high school. I can't believe he will start High School next year. We took our time on the way home. We let the baby take his second nap, then stopped to shop in Atlanta, and then he took his third nap on our way to their house. He ate his dinner and had a bath there. He slept the whole way home. We were pretty exhausted from a long day of travel, but it was so worth not hearing him scream half way home like he did last time. He was a few months older this trip, and he did so much better! He has had the best week this week, it didn't even phase him!
He found his toes and his ears while we were gone! I could watch him grab his toes all day...so adorable!

5 Months

What a special day! Jon David got to meet Gideon and Grace and their daughter Tabby. Grace has been praying for several years that the Lord would give us a baby. The last time she was here we had just found out we were expecting. She was so excited. She and Gideon kept saying "We have asked you from the Lord." "You are a miracle baby." "The Lord has sent you to us." I was one proud momma, but even more so thankful to the Lord for his faithfulness to us. Gideon and Grace were in for the Missions Conference. Jon David had is first babysitter, Tiffaney Wilhite Friday night so that Jonathan and I could go to service and out to eat. He did great for her. On Saturday night Jonathan had his first solo evening with him, so I could go to Wendi's for the Missions Dinner with Grace and Gideon.
On Sunday Jon David turned 5 months old, and I am so glad I waited a few days to blog it seems like over the past few days he has done so many new things. One of his new favorite things is the Johnny Jump Up my sweet friend Kristen got him. He doesn't really jump, but he loves to spin around in it.

Jonathan had a 3 day weekend and we LOVE when daddy is home. He loves to play with his daddy.
Yesterday morning, Jonathan said try to sit him up by the boppy. I thought he may stay a few seconds, five minutes later he was still up! I may have already mentioned this but it is my very favorite thing. Each morning Jonathan comes in our room to get ready for work and Jon David goes completly still and watches every move he makes for like 10 minutes. This is him watching him pick out his clothes (please disreguard the spit up) It is so precious!
We went back to the doctor this week and she said to go ahead and start veggies. It is a chore to give him cereal, but after his first bite of carrots he was opening wide for more! Tomorrow we start sweet potatoes.
This is his new thing. It's not the best picture of it but I think he might be trying to become a thumb sucker. I give him his passy before I swaddle him to lay him down for nap or bed time. If I give it to him while he is up he won't really keep it in, but multiple times while he is up he will slip in his thumb and suck it for less than a minute.
Here are a few pictures from his 5 month birthday. The first part of the month started out a little rocky, but since we started cereal my boy has been so sweet, content, and sleeping much better! He has been so happy we have started getting out almost every day. His Aunt Wendi let me use her baby bijorn, and now he loves to be on the go. We have ventured out to Target, the mall, my Nana's house, and yesterday we went to lunch with daddy and to meet baby Ezra.

What A Week

What a week! Last Saturday, October 23 Jon David stayed with my dad while I went to a baby shower in Townsend for one of my sweet friends. Since I was away most of the day on Sunday Jonathan and I took the dogs and Jon David to the park. He LOVES being outside! The dogs were way past due for an outing!
The leaves were beautiful, not that you can tell.
Jon David is getting much more alert and aware. It is so fun to watch him as he takes things in!
On pretty afternoons I sit his saucer on the deck and he loves to watch the leaves as the wind blows them. We have a ton of trees in our backyard, and they are so pretty right now!
This week we also got to visit with Jonathan's Aunt Jane who came in from Florida. She was able to love on Jon David on Wednesday. My Aunt Terry came in from Nashville, and she came to visit him on Thursday!
Friday morning my dad had the morning off so he and mom came over bright and early to play with Jon David. Later that day we had Jon David's 4 month Dr. appointment. He weighed 14 pounds. The doctor gave us the go ahead to start cereal...
and boy did he LOVE it! He was in a daze after he ate it. He has been having some nap problems the past few weeks, but had been sleeping great through the night. He took the best nap he has taken all month. I had to go wake him after 2 1/2 hours. Hopfully the cereal will do the trick, and get him back on track!
Sweet messy boy!
Friday night Annissa babysat Jon David so Jonathan and I could go to Bravo with his Aunt Jane, Uncle Clyde, Art and Wendi. We had the best time!
On Saturday Jonathan and I took him to Target and Belk and he did great.
Today was Halloween so he dressed up in his first costume. Jonathan really wanted him to be a tiger. As Lil' Art says an Auburn Tiger!
It was a little bitter sweet we took him to see my Nana and Juju. The same thing Annissa and I used to do when we were little before we went trick-or-treating

Nana loves Jon David
Needless to say everyone thought he looked adorable, which of course he did!
Our next stop was Aunt Wendi and Uncle Art's. Lil Art was the first one to greet us. He was so excited to get his picture made with Jon David.
Next was Ruthies turn.
And then Tinsley

and lastly the Birthday girl who LOVES Jon "Dabit" or something to that affect. She always wants to hold him!
As a side note...Adie Rose I cannot believe you are three. I remember holding you almost every day when you were Jon David's size. I have loved watching you grow through the years. You are one very special little girl, not only because you are my namesake or my cousin but because of how God made your unique little slef, from your sweet giggles at Jonathan to your little spunk. We love you sweet girl and always will!

Ok sorry, last but not least we stopped by Honey and Grandaddy's so they could see Jon David and so he could get a much needed nap!
Jon David,
What a special day! Not just because you dressed up in your first costume, but because you have so many people who love you! I am so thankful for this week with you! It has been extra busy, but I have loved spending every minute with you by my side! You are getting to be so much fun. Your daddy and I love you so much and can't wait for many more years of "dress up."
