8 Month Valentine

This past month has been a crazy month. You cut your first teeth, had your first cold, and were taken out of your swaddle, so needless to say you have been a little fussy. Even through the tough times we love being your parents. You actually were a champ through the "unswaddling." You have started reaching for us to pick you up, and it melts our hearts. You are more intently playing with your toys. This weekend you put your toes in your mouth. Your daddy thinks it's gross, but I think it is ADORABLE! You are lifting up on your arms and desperatly want to go and get pretty frustrated that you can't. I really don't think it will be too long before you are mobile. I have also started getting a touch sad. I know we are on the downward spiral to your 1st birthday. It makes me sad my baby is getting so big, but the Lord has used this fussy month to get me a little excited too. It will be so nice when you can let me know what you want.
Now that you are moving so much it is super hard to get pictures of you silly boy! I took a break from the light blue since it was Valentine's Day. We had a very fun day. We took Nana a Valentine, played with Adie Rose and Asher, then Honey and Grandaddy babysit so mommy and daddy could go on a date.

Look at those sweet teeth!

Snug as a Bug

Jonathan's cousin told me about the Miracle Blanket before I was even expecting Jon David and I knew I wanted to use one when I had a baby. I LOVE this blanket, and I love a swaddled baby! I mean seriously look at that picture. When most people saw him they would feel sorry for him, but he loved it.
At Jon David's 6 month visit the doctor told me I should take it away. She said she waited until 6 months to unswaddle her daughter who is now two and has been a terrible sleeper ever since. I tried several times, but just couldn't take they crying.
Well over the past few weeks Jon David has been waking up 3 and 4 times a night just for me to reswaddle him. Then he wanted to be reswaddled and bounced back to sleep, so I thought ok enough is enough. Yesterday we began the unswaddle bootcamp. I am very pleased with how well he has done. He only cried 30 minutes before the first nap, 20 before the 2nd nap and about 30 before bed last nigh then he actually slept through the night. Hopfully he will do the same tonight! So far today the first nap he only cried about 10 minutes and the second nap about 5. I really feel bad because I am the one who has done this to him, but hopfully this time next week he won't even remember the blanket. For the record I am not saying I will never use this blanket again, I will probably just try to take it away sooner. I LOVE the blanket and would highly recommend it to anyone!
